Get Involved

University is all about finding friends, finding community, and finding yourself. Nothing shapes your University experience more than the people you meet and the experiences you share together.

Clubs and Societies

Our sport clubs and societies are the perfect way for you to get the most out of your time at Ravensbourne University and we’ve got something for everyone with 20+ student led groups available for you to join.

Joining a society is a great way to have fun, try new things, and connect with like-minded people.

On each sports club or society’s page there will be information about what they do, their contact details, and details about their events and meetings.

Find the society that you want to join and click ‘become a member’. Some of the societies charge a small fee to help them support their activities throughout the year, so you just need to complete the checkout to sign up.

StAARs

StAAR stands for Student Academic & Activities Representative and it is the new face of representation at Ravensbourne. If you’re a rep on your course, or the President/Vice President of a sports club or society, then you are a StAAR and have a place on the StAAR academy. You're a pioneer for - the first ever StAAR academy and we’re proud of you for putting yourself forward.

StAARs are an essential link between the student body, Students’ Union and the University.  The community you create and the feedback you collect through clubs and societies helps to make positive changes for students at the university.

Being a StAAR is an exciting opportunity that enables you to not only make a positive change, but to develop your leadership and other skills.

Student Parliament

Student parliament is the main decision making body of the Students' Union.

It comprises of all StAARs as automatic members of the student parliament. Every other student is welcome to attend parliament meetings as guests, to be aware of what is going on within your University. However only StAARs and Sabbatical Officers have voting rights at meetings.
