3 Steps to Creating a Society

1. Find two other students to form your ‘executive’ team.
2. Gain a membership of 5 additional members.
3. Set up the society using this form and await a reply from your Students’ Union team.

Things to consider when starting a club/society:

• Will you have enough time to run the club/society between the three of you? Can you hold regular meetings?
• Have you considered facilities? I.e. If it’s a rock climbing society, do you know where you can do it?
• Will you have to charge members in order to be able to afford the maintenance of the society? I.e. training facilities, kit and equipment.
