Freshers Fayre 2014: how did it go?

We welcomed the new first years to Ravensbourne and introduced them to the RSU with a big celebration and collaboration at Freshers Fayre! With over 20 external companies offering food, goodies, student discounts, employment opportunities and did I mention food?! Dominos put on an amazing spread for our hungry Freshers and our piggy SU Team on the first day of term! As well as all of that on offer we had an amazing turn out of in house societies and clubs and a wave of new start up societies that are all supported and operating through the Students Union. The Rave Runners were the start-up heroes of the day, getting a big gold star for me with over 5 back to back sign up sheets of eager beavers! Rave Snow, one of the biggest societies on campus, made a ruckus with the hype over their fast approaching snow trip! Movie, Anime and Games society did spectacularly well entertaining our students with live game play and an exciting raffle! We had a huge turnout of students, over 1000 throughout the day, which is quite spectacular. It wasn’t all fun and games, we gave new and existing students a helpful hand by inviting welfare charities and groups like Transport for London, Greenwich Sexual Health, Meridian Fitness providing top notch advice, giveaways and discounted gym memberships!
